3000miles, £150,000 to raise, and 14 months to do it in. Not sure were to begin really. Errrr… Plymouth!

One rainy and windy Saturday afternoon Chris and I attended a seminar organised by Woodvale and run by Lyn, a fellow ocean rower who competed in the 2007 race, in Plymouth. We learned a lot from Lyn about what life will be like on the boat, and how to structure our fundraising campaign, and I think I can speak for us both by saying that it was in Plymouth that reality violently struck, and dismembered any and all illusions of ease and comfort that we might have foolishly have been harbouring. As confidence fled and realism set in, we started to feel much like Lord Cardigan just prior to the Charge of the Light Brigade as the sheer vastness of the task laid out before us dawned ever more apparent.

Immediately after the seminar we handed in our application forms and buckled ourselves in for a life-defining odyssey. Thanks to Juretic Media this website will be the very heart of our campaign. Through this small corner of the World Wide Web we hope to interact with our kind sponsors and create a community of people all uniting on a fundamental belief in the children’s charities and their amazing commitments.
